so what’s new with you?

I haven't done one of these posts since April! Where oh where have I been? Oh you know, just doing all the things.... as I tend to do, especially during the summer.
So first up! The big 'S' word... School school school. It has only been a little over a week and I am already sick of it. The summer went by far too fast! It was so chock full of all the things and we were always on the go (I mean I named the blog appropriately, did I not?). We got practically everything done off of our summer bucket list and I feel a great sense of accomplishment in this "Sandlot" summer that I tried to  have for my kids. But man am I tired! Exhausted. Deep in my bones. Not just from constantly going but from also the constant state of fighting between the kids that August brought around. And the wrestling with the boys... I mean. Nope. Does anyone else have wrestling brothers? I'm tempted to get them big boxing gloves and letting them go at it but then again... that might be too much encouragement.

We are in our first season of sports! David has baseball three times a week and Letty has field hockey twice a week. So I basically have like this insanely big color coded calendar on the side of my fridge plus also one in my phone and I'm just trying to keep all the things straight. Plus Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts and tutoring and Wednesday night church oh my! It takes a village, as they say and we sure are lucky to have that!

Between The Descendants 3 soundtrack and the new Aladdin soundtrack we have our musical needs being met. Have we seen these movies? Quite catchy tunes, like it or not! I'm excited for Aladdin to come out on DVD so that Matt can also appreciate all that is Will Smith as Genie...

This summer has held big things for these boys of mine! David finally learned how to tie his shoes! Dominic no longer needs a pull-up at night! Which if I'm being honest here he hasn't needed it like, for months and months and months but I am lazy and even the slightest thought of a wet bed had me like nah, he's good. But no more! Dom can also buckle his own seat belt! And he no longer needs assistance with a certain bathroom... thing. This is huge! I have more self-sufficient children! What am I to do!?

So I think I'll be decorating for fall here shortly. But if the sun is out and it is warm then I'm going to be out in that pool you better believe it. Fall on the inside, summer on the outside. For a while, anyways.

I am smashing my reading goal if I am being honest (toot toot beep beep)... so far I've read 42 books this year which has me pretty well on my way to a "book a week" goal. My most favorites as of late have been: A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer, All Your Prefects by Colleen Hoover and The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows and that is also a movie which I love.

And some new to me Instagram accounts that I just love: The Cottage Scribe, Kate, Living By Disney (she gives me some serious FOMO), Bahamas Girl and Lauren.

So what about you all? What's new with you!?

As always thanks to Kristen for hosting this link up!
