back again! to gettysburg!

I love going to Gettysburg in the fall. We used to go more often, back when the amount of kids didn't out number the parents. And one incredibly brave time I took the three kids solo. But there's just something great about heading out there on a fall day. Wandering around. Seeing the sights. Enjoying the crisp air. Soaking up some history while we are at it! And it's only an hour or so away so really, it should be done more!
And that is just what we did this past Sunday. Loaded up the car. Packed the snacks. And headed west! We don't really do much once there... just drive around the battlefield and stopping as we see fit. Certain memorials and observation towers always make the cut. Even if Matt can't go up there because he's sensitive. And I just really had the best time trying to recreate photos I took of the kids the last visit.... even if Dom wasn't in them because well, he was only 10 months old and in a wrap. The kids love Devil's Den and I get it, climbing rocks as a kid was a favorite of mine and you know I climbed those very same rocks with my brothers when I was little so we spent most of our time there.
After traipsing around the park we hit up the Mason Dixon Distillery for lunch and that place is just amazing. Matt got a flight and we had some pumpkin spice beignets and it was so delicious. We will definitely be back! To the restaurant. To the town. Next fall!
And in case you're wondering why I'm in so many of these photos its because Matt got a new iPhone and loves the new camera. So I mean, about time.
