This is our third year renting a house through Home Away. When I say "we" just know that I am saying "my parents," to be totally clear. My parents rent it, and my siblings and I and our assorted families tag along for the ride. We always have an amazing time on this trip each year!
This year was our first year that the house just far exceeded our expectations. It was a massive house, with six bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms, a large dining room and family room, a finished basement with darts and ping pong, a pool table, two kayaks, a paddle boat, a beach and assorted beach toys and a pontoon boat. But there is more! There was a playroom stocked with books and toys, tons of board games, two of the bedrooms had lofts accessible via ladders that the kids went nuts over, an outdoor shower, a stuffed bear, a urinal complete with hilarious wall art, rain shower heads, a fire pit and an outdoor fire place, movies upon movies, a top of the line kitchen, a fountain soda machine. I mean is there more to life? The home owners live in a separate outbuilding during the summer when they rent the property which I thought might be odd having them right there but it turned out wonderfully! They were one step ahead of us coming up with things to do or taking the kids out for tubing on the motor boat or coming down to help us with our fire when the wet logs wouldn't light, to treating us to dessert our final night at the restaurant in the inn they own. I mean really, top of the line, these people.

We couldn't recommend this property more! There isn't a ton to do in the surrounding area so it really just depends what kind of vacation you're looking for. You really don't have to leave the house at all and the town has all you need in the way of a gym/grocery store/liquor store/ice cream place/a few restaurants but after that? Not much. Like I said, depends what floats your pontoon boat. We had a wonderful time. More to come! Naturally.
