our olsen thanksgiving and a first snow!

Everybody with in-laws has a different set up when it comes to the holidays, right? For Matt and his family, we choose a day the weekend before Thanksgiving and celebrate then. It spreads out the eating a bit and also just keeps the fun going longer. Normally we have his brothers (if the youngest is in from Oregon) and his aunt and uncle. This year unfortunately our niece came down with quite the little bug and so they had to stay home, leaving just us Olsen five and Uncle Glenn and Aunt Sue. We made the most of our smaller numbers and ended up having ourselves a lovely little visit.

I tried to fancy it up as best I could to make it more of a festive thing for us all... Matt made spaghetti and meatballs and bread and salad and Aunt Sue brought this insanely tasty pie that just... wow. Too good! They brought ornaments for the kids for their trees and also Dominic's birthday gift (coming up here soon, sniff!). She even brought cupcakes and we sang to him.

But the real icing on the cake? Was that it snowed! Earlier that day the kids spent over five hours outside playing because it was gorgeous and then poof! just like that! Snow! Well technically more of a frozen-type sleet thing but still! They made snowballs!
To top the evening off the adults piled onto our basement couch and watched a movie on the big screen, a first for Aunt Sue and Uncle Glenn! It was so nice to have a good visit with them, we really do not get to see them as much as we would like. Love you guys!! And feel better Syd! We missed you!
