This bathroom! When we moved in we just cleaned it (like a lot) and then put our stuff up. Then a few months later we painted it green and updated the floors. Then a week or so ago I decided to scrap the whole thing. We repainted the walls, painted the cabinets, painted the light fixtures, removed all decor, got new towels, and spray painted everything not nailed down, basically.
All simultaneously. Not that I would recommend that.
Here is a photo of the master bathroom's transition through the past few years.
What exactly did we do?! More like, what did we not do? Well, we spray painted the light fixtures, the toilet paper holder, the towel rack, and the shower curtain rings all the same hammered black. At the same time we spray painted the trash can, tissue box cover and toothbrush holder white.
Matt made the shelf using pipe that we also spray painted the same black and then wood he stained. He used the same wood to redo the top of that little wrought iron table. He also added a frame to the mirror all by his onesie. I'd be happy to do up a diy post on those two if anyone wants to know how he did it.
I really tried hard to use things that I already had in the house if possible. I wasn't afraid of spray painting it and sanding it or distressing it. I'll link to as many items as I can but like I said a lot of it came from within the home, some things from when we first got married ten years ago (!). It was also super easy to come up with decor when decor involves throwing soap into a jar or q-tips into another jar. Functional and pretty!

Home Decor Warehouse is basically the bomb dot com but it's just local, not a chain. I have been going there since I was in middle school and was trying to channel my inner Christopher Lowell. Anyone else remember him?
Anyways so there it is. What do you guys think? I need therapy? Probably!
