magic kingdom, take one + the arrival of the others

Our days at the Disney parks consisted of lots of loud noise, child counting and corralling, sweating, weaving strollers through crowds, nursing as discreetly as possible on whatever ride I happened to be on, and magic. Magic and the joy in the kid's eyes as they saw the sights and took it all in. Which is all the best part of it all. Getting to relive the joys of Disney from your own childhood. That's why I think I love it so. I have the fondest memories from my own younger days and I would go to WDW even without children, but with them? With them is a hell of a lot harder but it is also a hell of a lot more meaningful.

Our first day with park tickets we headed towards Magic Kingdom. Thanks to my dad we were able to get Fastpass+ tickets to meet Anna and Elsa, something we have attempted and failed for longer than I care to admit. Letty was a bit speechless and a lot smitten with those two lovely ladies. They are her absolute favorite. Other attractions we took part in this day were, the Carousel, It's a Small World, Enchanted Tales with Belle, Pirates of the Caribbean, Swiss Family Robinson, Carousel of Progress, Peoplemover, Space Mountain, Tomorrowland Speedway, Dumbo, Under the Sea, and Peter Pan's Flight. I think besides the obvious with the Frozen ladies the favorite of the day was Enchanted Tales with Belle. I had no idea what to expect but it was honestly so fun. I got to see Letty come out of her shell a tiny bit and role play and put herself out there with other kids. She was a total clinger when it came time to hugging Belle.... there were awkward titters from the audience as the seconds kept ticking by. But all in good fun. Letty also had her first ride on Space Mountain and was as expected, fearless. I however sat in the seat behind her leaning forward with both of my hands on her shoulders so I could feel her safely in her seat the entire ride. Clinger mom right here, guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

We left by midafternoon to head back to the resort to meet up with the rest of the family who joined us that Tuesday. We played more by the kid's pool play area and just enjoyed the Floridian warmth. Our dining reservations were at TREX, where we had the joy of eating in the ice cave. A perfect spot for the overly sweaty and for the loud children.

And now, photos by the millions...

And then we all went home and went to bed. Because that is what one does when you've had a chock full day at Disney.
