happy hauntings

Each and every year when the air turns colder and those leaves change colors Dutch Wonderland changes right along with it, becoming Happy Hauntings. The place is decorated with pumpkins and hay bales, and they have a trick-or-treat trail back on Exploration Island. We got there a few weekends ago (just once this year, schade) with my mom, sister and niece for a little spooky fun. Costumes are encouraged of course, but I don't let my kids wear their costume prior to Halloween because my kids ruin things and I'm not making that mistake again. So David donned his fireman jacket and Letty decided her pink "toot-toot", scarf circo 1987 and Anna cape were just the perfect pieces of a costume for the day.

We all tricked and we treated, Lena and David paired up on as many rides as they could, those little cuties, and we all admired a many pretty leaf. David is still in the midst of his "phase" that resulted in one public display of distress, on a bench no less! We abruptly placed Lena in front of Duke to test the waters for Disney and she decided she would rather be in her mother's arms... but no tears from that location which is huge!

I mean where else can you see a milkin' cow wearing a witch hat? Where?!

Past year's Happy Hauntings here and here.
