leaf peeping at pinnacle

If I could I would go on long leisurely leaf peeping drives each and every weekend in the fall, particularly of the New England variety. Since that is just a pipe dream I was on a hunt for a spot locally where the peepage would be best. Pinnacle Overlook was one of the top contenders. In my mind the colors would have been a bit better, since I saw that peak turning would be the week we went but alas, it was still beautiful. The weather was perfect, albeit a tad chilly in the shade. The trails around the Pinnacle were too long for the kids so we just ate our packed lunch overlooking the dam down the road apiece that we just had to see since we were so close to it.
All in all a decent outing for a fall day.

  2. Great pictures! That's a hike we have never done. But definitely looks worth it with a view like that!

  3. The peepage lol. There was a drive up into the mountains by Boulder when we lived in CO that everybody said we needed to do in the fall. Did we ever make it? Not once. Four years. If I had a kid though I would have been all over it. I'm much more fun with a kid =)

  4. you look so pretty and so does that view!! gosh fall makes me crave some kind of new england trip. one day!!

  5. Oh, just look at all those leaves. Love these shots! Excellent outing idea.
