If I could I would go on long leisurely leaf peeping drives each and every weekend in the fall, particularly of the New England variety. Since that is just a pipe dream I was on a hunt for a spot locally where the peepage would be best. Pinnacle Overlook was one of the top contenders. In my mind the colors would have been a bit better, since I saw that peak turning would be the week we went but alas, it was still beautiful. The weather was perfect, albeit a tad chilly in the shade. The trails around the Pinnacle were too long for the kids so we just ate our packed lunch overlooking the dam down the road apiece that we just had to see since we were so close to it.
All in all a decent outing for a fall day.
