two months in with oils

I shared my thoughts on this whole essential oil business last month here. And now two months have passed since the addition of these to our lives and..... drum roll please: still no real sickies. No fevers. Only a runny nose a day or two to speak of. Shockers of all shocks.

After month one I purchased lemon, eucalyptus and peppermint. And here is what we have been doing with them. Or will be doing with them should the need arise. I found myself overwhelmed when I got the oils. I googled uses for each one and it felt much more manageable that way. Even if I have yet to use the oil for that use yet I know how I can use it.

Add to dishwasher detergent with a particularly yucky load
Put a few drops in garbage disposal
Clean cutting boards
Kill aphids
Drop in cold water each morning to detox
Clean stainless steal appliances (I didn't really like the streaking. Then again I have yet to find a non streaky product I like)

25 drops with 8 ounces water spray bottle for bug and ant repellent. It makes the room smell minty fresh. No ants yet but I'll keep you posted.
Roll on tummy if feeling sick. I did this once when I had "sour stomach" as my dutchy husband calls it. I probably had it too diluted for maximum effectiveness but the smell was nice. Also this is apparently an appetite suppressant and girl could use some of that.

Add to shower or vaporizer to help breath when congested
Put in vacuum and dryer vent (Matt didn't like this, he thought it gave him a headache. But I think it smells like a spa.)
Roll on chest to help breath when congested
Drop on pillow to help breath when congested

I made a few blends! Meaning, found a "recipe" on Pinterest for some problem area and made them.

Lemon, lavender, and peppermint, 10 drops each in roll on bottle topped off with coconut oil for seasonal allergies (this was for Matt and he says it is working and as he is an allergy pill a day taker, that's saying something).

Lemon, peppermint, and immune strength, 3 drops each topped off with coconut oil in roll on bottle for a cold.

Lavender, peppermint, and eucalyptus and coconut oil for vapor rub. Again, haven't had the chance to use this yet.

So there you have it. Two months in and we still are a fan. Who would have thunk it?
