cookie baking day!

Well a very happy New Year's Eve to each and every one of you! To some of you this year can just hit the road and don't let the door hit you on the way out 2015! But to me and mine, it was a pretty darn good year. Here's hoping that 2016 brings with it health and happiness for one and all!

But with all that said, I'm still going through the hundreds of photos of activities Christmas style, and today that is our Annual Cookie Baking Day! Towards the end of December I feel like we were all in a frenzy, trying to squeeze as many different things off our list into as few days as possible. And it's not for lack of planning that's for sure, because you know me, I plan these things before Thanksgiving. But that was just the way the cookie crumbled this year.

My mother hates this day. She hates us all being up in her kitchen. She hates the noise and hecticness of it all. She hates the kid's decorating skills. And yet she allows us to just ruin her fun each and every year. And the kid's skills are improving! I see lots of brown sprinkles on a certain gingerbread man! Color appropriate sprinkles only David!!

We made almond extract infused sugar cookies, peanut butter cookies, my favorite spritz cookies, and chocolate sugar cookies. We were busy. I ate more raw dough than I really care to admit.... but we can cross cookie making off of our list.

And of course the real images of the day from my sister-in-law...
Past cookie baking days here and here.

a bass pro santa

Here it is, New Year's Eve Eve, and I am still playing catch up from well before Christmas... Tis the season as they say.

Normally we see multiple Santa's a year, our favorite always being Elizabeth Farms. However, this past year's photo was sort of eh in quality and it is quite expensive. In search of something new, we heard of Bass Pro Shops and their Santa. What the deal! It's free first of all, even the 5x7 photo! They have all sorts of things for the kids to do, archery, remote control monster trucks, laser shooting, coloring pages, a carousel! Not to mention the store itself is like sensory overload, animals everywhere and a massive fish tank! So basically what I'm saying is, I think we found a new tradition. A new Santa. Even though my nieces hated him, I thought he was pretty special.

And it was a really fun way to spend the evening with all my nieces and my kids. Obviously, because I think we are a pretty fun train.

And naturally my own personal photographer's images of the very same evening are below. I really should only use her photos on the blog if I am being honest.
