randoms about a house

I had the new and improved foyer all set to show off today but Matt came up with another idea that thanks to Hobby Lobby and their 50% off metal sale must be accomplished sooner rather than later. So. It's best to wait because his idea is epic.

But there are some other minor (or not so minor) things that have been altered in mi casa....

The chalkboard. Okay this doesn't really count but I like this one. I'm always trying to be as amazing as Little Baby Garvin
New rugs! The flooring in the foyer/hallway/kitchen/eat-in kitchen is the bane of my existence. It's practically white in color and shows everything. I thought perhaps this was a job to be tackled early on in our home ownership but sadly I was mistaken. I took to Kohls with a dream of covering as much as possible. It kind of works. Chevron found here. Other pattern here. Can I just say? Cheap and machine washable? Ding ding.
Doors. They be painted. Every. Last. One. Of. Them. Not a job for the weak hearted but man am I glad we did it. Small bonus that actually is not so small? Dirt. You just won't see it anymore. Maybe someday we will get around to removing brass hardware... maybe.
As seen here the window treatment in the eat-in kitchen was lacking. Matt and I were having a disagreement as to the state of affairs and naturally, I eventually won. A new valance was purchased and wala.
I just keep adding to my gallery wall! But when you have new family members added (1 and 2) and people visiting from Oregon you must document with a new family photo (1 and 2). These must be hung. It's sort of law or something.
Nursery. Nursery. (In my head I was chanting that like bangerang and then I got all kinds of sad) Well. I am already knee deep in planning this room for Baby Dom. Or Baby Nick. The seas are divided between spouses as to the nickname but the tides lean towards Dom. Details. Here is a sneak peak of what colors are happening and what theme is happening and it's bright and fun and Matt you need to just accept this. When have I ever steered you wrong?

Happy Thursday!

  1. It's definitely Dom lol and I love gray for nurseries (that was Tori's too) and all things owl. Matt, let it happen! P.S. I don't think I have ever seen black doors in a house before... at least not where I have noticed I guess. And I love them. Good thinking with the dark to cover dirty fingerprints all over them!

  2. You know I feel about the name but I also selfishly need to add that I should probably be on that gallery wall somewhere. Just sayyyyyin :) lastly, tiles are the worst. Rugs for the win!

  3. Love it all! Can't believe you have the updated family photos up already! Although I guess this shouldn't surprise me ;) I am loving the color scheme for Doms nursery. So exciting!

  4. I am so excited to see the new baby room. Dom's room. hehe Excellent choice on rugs and I am still totally in love with the gallery wall. I need one in my life. :)

  5. Your gallery wall is taking on a life of it's own and multiplying!! Taking over the house!! Yay. The bigger the better sometimes. I think this falls under that.
ooh and way to start with a cliffhanger!

  6. Never too many pics on the gallery wall, we have one that stretched up the staircase with all b&m photos in contrasting b&w frames. It is my favorite wall! And now we will have to start adding upward since I have exhausted al levels of the stairs. haha!

I love hearing from you. Honest I do. You won't find my response to you here, but in your inbox. F.Y.I.
