christmas bucket list

My chronic list-making curse strikes again! I realize that Thanksgiving is still a day away but as evidenced in my inordinate number of Christmas posts already on here...I love all things Christmas. It can't really be helped. Thanksgiving is my least favorite of all the holidays in all the lands. But Thanksgiving night has one good thing going for it. It is the night where all the Christmas schtuff can start to happen. Traditionally this begins with a viewing of this little beauty:

But the festivities don't just stop there...

- Decorate the house until it's positively dripping in all things Christmas. (check)
- Take the kids to see Santa and get obligatory photo.
- Visit Dutch Winter Wonderland as many times as possible.
- Ornament making!!
- Cookie baking!!
- Up the ante on the Elf on the Shelf. Last year's antics will be coming soon.
- Complete all Christmas shopping online by the beginning of December. Including stocking stuffers. (check)
- Polar Express party complete with bells and tickets and hot chocolate.
- Take the kids to a live nativity.
- Play this game. Over and over again.
- Watch the following: White Christmas. Home Alone 1 and 2. Elf. The Santa Clause. Fred Claus. Scrooged. Holiday Inn. Four Christmases. The Holiday. How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Mickey's Christmas Carol. Rudolph. Frosty the Snowman. Santa Claus is Coming to Town. Christmas Vacation x34.
- Go to a candlelight Christmas Eve Service.
- Making those gingerbread men.
- Jingle Bell Run. Striped candy cane socks are a must.
- Manhattan for the day. Might as well check out the Christmas tree of all Christmas trees. And freeze our baguettes off.
- Celebrate the father's, the sister's and the Steph's birthdays.

This Holiday Season is going to be loads and heaps better than last year's. I know it. There is so much to be happy about and a lot to appreciate and memories to be made. Everything is different and yet not really. I'm just really freakin excited.

Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas. Kiss my ass. Kiss his ass. Kiss your ass. Happy Hanukkah.

Oh and I'll follow up that movie quote with the following: I do know the real reason for the season. Just fyi.
